About a year ago I was set upon by a large black lady with a metal-tipped golfing umbrella. This spike was about 7" and sharp looking, and after being hit with it a few times she decided to try and stab it towards my belly...... enough was enough and I punched her and she fell down unconscious.
She was rabid - all but foaming at the mouth with rage.... Anyway - I've been recounting this episode to a few folk and many of them seem to think my actions were not appropriate.
What do you think?

Well I didn't intend to knock her unconscious - that was just the result! She obviously fucked on drugs..
Why did she attack? No reason - she was ranting to herself swinging this thing around and saw me and came for me...
Oh year - this was in Shoreditch... And that's not a cheap shot.

if it was unprovoked then I'd probably have grabbed her brolly, snapped it over my knee, hurled venomous abuse at high speed and spat in her face, dont know that I'd have punched her but sounds pretty funny... you have to give people with psychological issues some leeway, if thts the case I would have thrown the brolly away and laughed at her.

well... hindsight ya know. All I know is I didn't think past the fact she could've ripped me balls off or poked an eye out.
I say it was self defence, but people seem to get upset because it's a woman.
Oh well..
