Got almost half way thru and lost all interest. I may give it another go one day. I'm like that.

i finished it last weekend and loved it. it moves along at a strange rate and there are some things in it which i had to go back and reinterpret (as i was being too literal at the time). don't care about reviews, but some people have hated it. dunno why.
the subjects of religion, family, nationality and the relationships humans have with animals were charming and intelligent.

I admit, I loved the parts that concerned the anaimals in the zoo and their relationships and behaviors. 'Charming' is a perfect description of it. It's when it delved into religion that I lost all interest. That's just me.

i agree...like when he gets overy religious on the raft.
the religious part i loved is when he was still in india and wanted to be 3 different religions...couldn't understand why that was a problem. i found that hysterical and insightful.
the psychological explanations of a human relating to an omega tiger and how it all works in the circus was great.
