the technology exists - good condenser mikes are made with different settings that are sort of like adjusting depth of field for audio, go make it work moth!

check out the C 414 B-XL II

The little symbols are visual reps of the different polar settings, eg the circle is surround sound, the mushroom is directed to the front of the mike but only picks up minimal sound behind it.

Nice vespa - but i think getting this to work wouldn't require any really special mics.... just good directional ones. And I'm all for analog, man...!
When recording my demos, the best Bass Drum sound I got was sticking the microphone between my bed and the matress and hiting it with a big stick. This in turn had a little gain added and it sounded fantastic. Ditto sfx.

i'm a big fan of analogue effects

just making do with what I got... better than out-the-box guitar effects imo.
what is it you do with audio?

we just redesigned our site where i work to cater for the visually impaired and it was a real arse to create something that looked good but worked across the board.
For some things you just gotta so no it can't be done but others just give it a try.
We followed the guidlines from the UK blind organisation ...Bobby I think it is...but even after following their guidlines we still didn't create a 100% acceptable site.

Yeah, I think some people on the net take this too far. There aren't brail bill boards on the side of the road. Newspapers aren't printed in brail or with one of those sound chips in lame greeting cards with voice overs. Nope. You miss out, you miss out. Have a friend read it to you. Sowwy.

You're in a band vespa?
The guitar always goes fine! Got a few guitars and some equipment from a friend who's gone overseas, so I've got some new toys ;)
I posted these a while back - dont know if you checked 'em out. Kinda rough little ditties:

The compliancy is called section 508 I believe, I did some work with "E-Learning" a while back and everythung had to be compliant. fortunately macromedia has it built in.
run a search on ti, make it compliant, charge more $$$ then go and give that other company a swift ass kickin.

Easiest thing to do is to start considering that you should be designing sites that have at least level 1 (w3c) accessibility then you wont lose your clients, you might even gain some.
It really isn't rocket science to make your sites accessible and it doesn't need to cost the earth. If sold to the client as a benefit (soon to be a legal requirement) accessibility really shouldn't be an issue.

It's an issue if they go too far...
"(soon to be a legal requirement)"
... I'm trying to find out the official line on this in the UK and I cant find it...

Making a simple html site level 1 compliant (as tested with Bobby) is pretty simple. I just consider it good development.
Depending upon the client I'm speaking with I use this as a selling point (ie: helping them to reach the widest possible target audience). For banks, schools, etc., this is a good selling point and helps to show how we compare to other competing vendors.
