hi all, 2 quick questions. my friend wants a enhanced CD made, basically a quicktime clip created in a window i design with a link to a website. this will go in a audio CD with audio tracks, so it must play on all CD players (mix tape). i think i can accomplish that. my questions are:
1- if i create it on a mac, i hear i need a copy on PC to export for PC as well. true?
2- do i need the audio files to create the CD, or can i send them the director files exported and then they can marry the two at the dupe place?
thanks!

Most pressing plants can put them together for you there but you might wanna play it safe and make the CD yourself. Make sure you record the aduio in the first session and it'll work in all cd players.
As for the platform thing, in order to make it work cross-platform you'll need to export it from both PC and Mac. You should also make the autorun file for the PC so that it launches automatically. I might recommend using flash for this project because I think it might actually work cross platform without exporting it twice. Don't quote me on that though....

hmmm thanks for the info. i rather do it in flash, and i have done CD's in flash but never with audio tracks, so i thought it might be better to use the 'right tool' for the job. ive played with director in the past and what i need is pretty simple, i was just concerned about the cross platform thing. thank god for demos! (wait, i havent checked to see if there is a director demo!)

In the past, Director demos have had a lot of exporting restrictions.
Let me make sure I totally understand the project...
Session 1:
Audio tracksSession 2:
Autorun launched screen with video and a weblink, maybe a few more things.Correct?

I haven't got it or tried it but Director MX 2004 finally lets you create dual-platform projectors from one single platform.
