man. In On the Killtaker changed how I thought about music when I was in middle school. Then I finally saw them at Kent State University for the May 4th rememberance (kids got shot by the government in the early '70s because they assembled - for all you overseas kids). I've never seen a stage show so exciting when the band had no production, video or pyrotechnics. And they still feel like MY band, even though they're huge, you know?

One of my alltime favorites too. I like long division and suggestions as well as many others. I don't think I've really heard anything after their first 4 albums though.

Try to find the version of "Waiting Room" by Atom & His Package. I've been trying to find it but it seems to be lost. You won't be disappointed. Almost a polka version. F'ng brilliant.

It became "uncool" at some point to dig Fugazi in the "cool guy" scene but yes... In On the Thrill Taker was a great album and Red Medicine was even better. It changed alot of was punk/hardcore/indie/and rock kids think about music. Whether you like them or not they oened up all the doors for that type of music to expand past the typical sounds and attitude. They made actually "playing" your instrument okay.
And typically "Waiting Room" is the song everyone knows, and they know Ian was once straight edge but the band is much much more than all of that. If you haven't heard them in years... please do yourself a favor and play catch up. Every album is great on its own. They touched on so many styles of music all in the name of...

If I'm in a music store and see a Fugazi album that I haven't seen before, I buy it. I simply know that I will like it and they haven't failed me yet. Stereolab is the Fugazi of Pop.

I actually re-purchased a couple albums to relive some high school moments during a road trip. Great driving music. I will always really respect the way they put out their music.

unfortunately the 3 times I saw them aren't available to download yet.
I would love to relive those memories, especially the times Ian berated hecklers and stage divers.
