What a goddamn joke.
We've got Cable, but we can't have broadband, because we are not in a Cable "area", but they will offer us Umetered access, for £15 that is, and I quote:"available to anyone in the UK who has a BT phone line."
What the fucking hell are they trying to sell me?
BT's services or their own?
I don't think they know their ass from their elbow and it pisses me off.
Anyone had this malarkly?

Yep - I entered our postcode - SE5 - on their website availibility search, and it confirmed we were eligible for broadband. Then their site buggered up and I couldnt complete my transaction. So I rang them up and said I'm having trouble with your site, my postcode is SE5 blah blah.
"Sorry sir, we do not support that area"
"But your website told me you did?!"
"Sorry sir, but our website is out of date"
Eh?

I just rang back to cancel everything - spoke to some other dude who said I can have broadband... WTF?
I can sort bloody leased lines into our office, and find my way through the mire that is that... but NTL have me completly confused.

adsl rather than cable?

I have no idea what they are on about but i cant imagine they would sell you a bt product. Just ask them if it is some kind of adsl.
I can only imagine they are offering you 0800 dial up service for that amount because broadband from them cost at least £25 for the standard connection i have a 1mb line from them which is £35
