Hey engage,
I won't know what the project is until we negotiate rates...thats just how freelance and the ad world works....Not enough time for anything...always a rush...which is why the pay is better.....so a projetc rate is out of the question...thansk for the responses....

I'm talking about not working for the end user but as part of a studio, maybe he doesn't know how long he'll be there or on what projects.. just another pair of hands.

doesn't know much by the sound of it.

?

coz it's such a grey area... and you're making sound like you're running a 'damage limitation' or 'emergency' operation... charge whatever pays your bills... I don't see how you can cost for something that you seem to not know anything about?

thanks rasp.
But if work starts at a later time than you normally begin...I mean like towards the end of your work day....Do you charge the same amount to work overnight? I would be working offsite...

shit rasko...should have done that.....

Does it make the job anymore dangerous...
If they ring you up at 8PM and say they want it by 8AM the following morning... you have to ask yourself, what is it worth me doing this, and charge it. It's an AD-HOC process I feel.

me neither

and if they're gonig to call you out whenever a retainer would do you good too.

Rasko...is exactly right....I would be another pair of hands....

Engage,
Don't I wish I could just go back to the client and tell them that I'll charge more....then I'd probably lose them....you've got some good clients on your sleeve.....would you tell them that? I don't want to sound like slaveboy to my clients, but I do want to do whatever I can to help them out.....
