so at work I'm on a mac and i hate it because I don't know any of the hotkeys...how does one refresh the browser(i think it's called a 'hard refresh?) and not view the cached version?

Command-Option-E - Empty Cache
Command-R - Reload Page

keybord shortcuts on a mac are almost the same as on windows, except instead of Ctrl you use command (Apple)
command+c is copy, command-v is past, and so on
to refresh a page in safari is Command+r just like Ctrl+r is refresh in netscape on a PeeCee
you can also
type this address into safari and it will show you all of the shortcuts for safarifile:///Applications/Safari.app...
