Last weekend, my cousin from Cali, Me(Utah) and my buddy(from Colorado) were talking and realized that we don't know one person who LOVES nascar...

Well you don't know me. I'm pretty much a closeted NASCAR fan (J.Gordon & Tony Stewart ). I enjoy all motorsports. F1 mostly. You won't catch me dead at an NASCAR event. Speaking of which, you haven't lived until you gone to the dragstrip - catch the next NHRA event nearest you. At least for the anthropology of it all. And the pounding sound.
Thank god for the Speed Channel.

I used to be a huge F1 fan, been to heaps of gp's, but it bores me to tears now. hardly any good races. The highlight of the year so far has been that crazy fucker on the track last week. They need to do some power/aerodynamic capping or something.

The BEST kind of racing is rally racing. My respect for these teams is sky high. It would take an immense amount of skill and balls to handle a car like those guys do.
Next up is F1.
Way down the list, somewhere past a good soapbox derby you'll find NASCAR. I'm sure it's hard, 'n stuff, but hot DAMN it's boring...

I love NASCAR. Most people see NASCAR as racing cars. But it's much much more in depth than that...
F1 is also in depth, and uses extremely Hi-Tech devices. For instance, every single control for the car is on the steering wheel (including gas, brake, clutch, etc)

I was not a NASCAR fan until I played the video game at city walk...
It's really more than a video game. It's a room with 12 near life size nascar racers and each has it's own hydrolics and 3panle surround video screens. you race each other and the shit feels real when you flip.

If you sit down, pay attention, and watch & listen to a complete NASCAR Winston Cup race, it is intruiging, exciting, and gains the respect of most...I can't stand it when people say the "racing cars isn't a sport"... not a sport? The NASCAR racers not only train and practice, but they also have to have high stamina and be in great shape to withstand hours upon hours of racing a car at speeds up to 200 mph

but seriously I can't watch a whole fucking race... I just tune in to the sports broadcast and watch the crashes and the checker flag.
but I fucking love to race gran turismo and NASCAR at city walk. I do appreciate the races a lil more because of that...

I grew up watching NASCAR. Love(d) it. Then I got a job working on a NASCAR account. That and the fact that Gordon won every week made it boring for me.
Now I follow cycling, The Tour de France.

true, Jeff Gordon does win quite a bit, it does sometime make it seem repetative and boring (no offense to Gordon) but he has slowed down in winning these days, and so far, the most wins by one driver is 3 (Kurt Busch)... so this year is rather interesting

I've honestly tried NASCAR (figurativly, obviously), but I just can't bring myself to watch it. It's like baseball to me that way..

I guess it appeals to different people. To me, I would think you're crazy if you don't like NASCAR, but I realize that different people have different tastes in what is "exciting" or "fun" to watch on TV.

Another controversial concept... women in NASCAR. I say go for it, but women everyone must realize that women aren't going to win races anytime soon (in my opinion), because the men have been at the sport for years and have the adantage with experience. Although, if the women practice and practice, they will one day be contestants in NASCAR. Practice makes perfect!
