re carsonified, agree the type is poor on quite a few of the headers, but it's a hell of lot better than their previous site which was really poor on many levels. So I think we should acknowledged that a designer has put some work in and made some significant improvements. Nevertheless, I can see that if I'd created those headers I may have thought again and spent and bit more time getting it better (visually).
Surely there is a correlation in the "New Baby" type between getting the job out of the door and getting the job done well before it goes out the door. I think there are many things produced which are probably done last minute, or with little or no budget and therefore someone just slaps some text down and thinks they'll get away with it. Which they do, but then someone is always going to come along later and say "How come this left the designers screen and got printed/published" "Why didn't they re-do that bit or this bit" but sometimes you just don't get the hours to finish a job to the satisfaction of everyone.
But critique of that work is still OK, in my opinion if we accept that there may have been reason for the poor quality of the work other than they just didn't notice it.
Perhaps it comes down to your personal pride - I'd rather spend a couple of extra minutes/hours getting it right in my own time if I have to rather than let something shit out of the door.
