Is the company you are a director for an actual company?
I mean has the company taken all relivant steps to be recognised as a company where you live (tax, registered...etc)? Or is it just you working from your bedroom?
If its the first, then feel free to call yourself a CD.
If its the second, then just see freelancer.

With all due respect, what could possibly made you think that you can tell him/her (or anyone for that matter) what title he can and cannot use?
