    well obviously it is used grammtically in this instance and not so much for pacing.

    you are addressing someone, sparky. therefore the pause isn't significant and can be overlooked as we generally speak in a hastened manner which is directly proportionate to our rat-race lifestyle. grammatically it is still quite correct, even though getting your brother Frank to dress up in drag and give you hand jobs isn't.
