i'm sure there is a quicker work around with a single program, but I find it easy to use quicktime pro, set in and out points, crop, and export as audio file... it can't export Mp3, so i just export to AIFF, then import into iTunes and convert there. QT Pro is $20 i think, and iTunes is free.
