Got another tip for password protected PDF's that can't be placed in InDesign etc.
1) Open the restricted PDF in ColorSync. ( Applications/Utilities )
2) Choose File: Save as, and name it whatever you like.
3) Password gone.- you have made my day dude! :)madirish
