got to love misinterpreted data.
the only thing you can gain from this chart is that out of those issues presented, only 31% of the sample would not vote for a candidate if his/her stance differed from the respondent's.
what this does not say is what the stance in question is (pro envornment, tougher regulations, more taxes, de-regulation, etc...).
compare "the environment" to other issues presented in the survey and you will also see a difference. all of the others take a pro/con, for/against stance, whereas nobody runs openly against the environment (and before the bush bashers jump in you must concede even he has made statements and policy that are pro-environment and has never openly denounced the issue, unlike abortion or gay marriage).
the major problem with this survey, and the "green" movement in general is that there is no one defining issue everyone can rally around or agree about. people continue to argue about global warming and its causes, yet no one is leading an effort to unite all the disparate factions into one centralized movement.
so in closing, please don't generalize over misinterpreted data from some bullshit survey about my fellow country men. that is all.
