Yeah, the length of the title themes and scenes have shortened in order to allow for more advertising time.
Gross, but true. Especially with reality shows like American Idol and Dancing With the Stars, etc. There's an excessive amount of product placement as well.
Sometimes commercials are fun to watch and to analyze (maybe it's because I'm a media student though), but usually I prefer using the laptop since there are no commercials.
