My company has outsourced a few times and it has always come back in poor quality. Design, animation and code. There are some decent companies in India and others will catch up eventually.
In the case of advertising, I think it is very difficult to outsource messaging or copywriting to India or China.
My issue is when the client needs top quality or a strong message and upper management has asked to outsource it for $$$ margins.
It is scary to be in a production role when $8.25 is thrown out as an option. Maybe the secret is to always expand your skillset, keep ahead of the curve and be able to creatively think and push those ideas to clients.
What do I know? Maybe I'll go into garbage collecting...that can't be outsourced can it?
