    I felt like that until I realised there isn't some life after death... and that in the amount of years I've got left I should make the most of it... before I get buried and rot

    That would make many people even more depressed, I would imagine- no afterlife to look forward to...no thanks. I still believe in making the most of it, because what I do now will have an impact after I'm gone, in this world & the next.
