After starting off nicely and quite a few good years mtv turned to rubish, and in recent years actually went far below that.
Our parents thought "Beavis & Butthead" were bad tv, but it actually was quite safely subversive and did us no harm.
Is today's "sweet 16" type of mtv programming really low kind of children brainwashing or am I getting old? They used to have specials with some real content in it, some insight into rock history etc. Now they air 30 minutes on dangers of anorexia and bulimia followed straight away by world's 100 sexiest bodies, praising everyone with zero fat on them. WTF?
Then there's one on how much each celeb spends on crap with E! like presenters moaning.

Most of all: why is there no music on mtv? (at least uk/ireland)

I will remove mtv from my cable when I have kids.
