Why put the hate on Suicide Girls? I was supposed to interview them in 2002 for http://www.tweedmag.com and what I found was that they are a tech-savvy (and sex-positive) web community with an excellent niche [fetish perhaps?] target audience. Their business and marketing practices are a cut above most internet startups. I know it's difficult to detach an organization from its content but I think they have more in common with Gawker and Gothamist than some random porn site. The high-profile interviews and partners they have attracted are coveted by other hipster-culture portals. In some ways it's a shame they are a porn site because it prevents them from winning the respect they deserve. What would Annie Sprinkle say?
