The target of Colbert wasn't Bush and more than Scalia ( though that was funny) it was the co-opted press.
Best I can make out the press could deal with Clinton's scandal because it was basically a tabloid story. Its not like they let that story die.
With Bush, Colbert pointed out their job is typing and they did it very well.
