I have a secret fledgling love for condensed caps. Try the Akzidenz-Grotesk BQ Family (and the Condensed version of that). I used different weights in a grid formation recently and was very happy with how it turned out :)
Also....a (well trodden but equally) good method. Use tape + construct your own square gridded letters in pixel formation. That way it totally is 100% hand crafted to your needs without clicking buttons and searching for the "perfect font" (if you're looking for your own angled look).
I'm not a huge typographer (ohhh) but I love this type of thing!
