Sold my old Macbook on eBay.
Is Command-R - Recovery enough to wipe it if I reinstall it like factory settings?
Any tips to ship it besides bubble wrap and peanuts in a box?
You can use Disk Utility to security format from the Recovery partition (or any other bootable system). When erasing you'd want to turn up the security which is available via a "Security Options" button. Note that SSDs don't have this option as they are better suited for use with full encryption via Filevault.
If the drive is already encrypted via Filevault (which SSDs should be), a buyer would have to format over everything just so they set their own Filevault password (assuming they even know how).
Command + R + N (rid nudes), good enough.
Double box it. macbook-> box+ bubble wrap -> peanuts+box
or just package it normally and take out full new value insurance. Could work out well for you.
I've tried Command R, Command Shift R, Command Shift Option R and NONE WORK.
They all just go to the login screen.
