I'm a little behind the curve since using Fontographer many years ago. What do you folks recommend for making your own fonts?
I'm looking for something simple that can create fonts from illustrator vectors. (Simple monospaced style for a current client).

Looks interesting but more for tweaking originals.https://www.fontself.com
Thinking about this one, can anybody vouch for it?http://www.fontlab.com/font-edit…

The last one's not for 'real' fonts though, is it?
There's also TypeTool which I used to have a copy of and found it wholly functional for my [not massively extensive] needs (using output from Illy as you intend) - http://old.fontlab.com/font-edit…
Also, you might want to start off with a quick look at...
- Good shout. TypeTool looks handy and affordable for a one off. I'll give birdfont a go first. Cheers.monoboy

I still use Fontlab but have lately made the switch to Glyphs https://glyphsapp.com
Glyphs' pretty good. Simple, straightforward and more powerful than you'd think. It also creates opentype features for you. Not much pain on regards to hinting and creating OTF files quick. The overall flow is a little simpler than other software out there.
- QBN has problems with some https links (is this a new thing?)
