I don't really smoke. I've had this box of Parliaments for nearly three years now and I'm only now down to my last one (and that was sharing several with a friend). But tonight I feel like walking down to the liquor store and buying a pack and a bottle of makers mark or maybe a Japanese whisky. What do you recommend for the non/casual-smoker?

American Spirit.
Camel.
Pouch tobacco, roll it yourself.
- I also hope, for your sake, it does not become a full time habit. Source: full time smoker.rabbit
- Thanks. It wouldn't even if I wanted it to. I've never had a single addictive tendency. Just bored I guess. :)SteveJobs
- lol is anyone really immune to nicotine addiction?yuekit
- Isn't that possible? Nearly anything that can be consumed one way or another I seem to tire of easily. But maybe under the right circumstances?SteveJobs
- I think it's more of a chemical thing. One pack won't make you addicted though, you will just feel like shit afterwards.yuekit

- I've heard about these. Mostly for "pro's" or ok for someone who smokes like once or twice a year?SteveJobs
- If you prefer lighter, go with the yellow or even blue. And disregard the bali shag— i like a roasted, heavy flavor, but was harsh for some friendsBrokenHD

- Nothing says 'I'm a pompous, self-important cunt' quite like smoking clove cigarettes. Please tell me you don't, pango. Please.Continuity
- I do. bite me! :) they are my weekend cigarette. I have other variations of kretek as well. usually brought over by friends from Indonesia except this brand.pango

- Really, those must have been really staleterry_cloth
- I couldn't tell you the difference. Probably better that waySteveJobs
- You must be joking, they go stale and harsh after being open for a few daysset
- We are talking about Parliaments though, harshness may improve themterry_cloth

I was gifted a carton of blue American Spirit not that long back, which I quite enjoyed - they put me in mind of the taste and smell of cigarettes when I first tried them 30 years ago - fresh and leafy-smelling.
They went too quickly, so I'm back on white tip Malrboro Golds.
- It's odd, but I really never reckoned you are a smoker, for some reason. Huh. Learn something new every day, I guess!Continuity
- I try not to be, mostly - I have them for teh daily hashish. If I'm out with a drink in my hand though, I am very much a smoker :(detritus
- lol at utterly pointless downvote.detritus

regular old Marlborough lights for a casual tab. I buy the soft pack sometimes so i feel really American and it makes it a bit more 'costume' rather than actual smoker. A pack once in a while keeps me happy and not mega consistently addicted. I've managed to keep it under control where I can have a cigarette every now and then and not go back into addiction, which is the best i can do.

- but don't really by marlboros. they're shit.sarahfailin
- id smoke those..pockets

I like the lighter American Spirits, but I usually go with Camel Blue's whenever I do buy a pack (pack usually lasts me over a month).
And go ahead and smoke. You're going to die of something one day anyways.
