I try to keep a small amount of fonts activated in FontEx[orer to keep my machine running fast.
Does Font Book also activate fonts? How do I make sure all my fonts are off in Font Book and only the ones I want on FontExplorer are currently activated?

I don't love Fontbook but ever run two font managers at the same time. By default, if you haven't added any fonts in Fontbook you should only see system fonts as the active ones. Hopefully that answered your question.

I only add fonts to FontExplorer, but somehow I had over 2,000 fonts in Font Book.
- Apple installs tons of foreign language fonts and others, most of which you won't ever need.monospaced
