excellent stuff. reducing the picture to 1px to get the average colour already is kind of cool. in the past i used the pipette with 25px radius for example. did not know the 1px method works.

no idea who he is but i'm sure he'd love that misty pink.seriously tho. averaging may be marginally faster than extracting a rgb colour palate but it gives you nonsense, and then you limit your results by 68%. any random (pastel) colour between #AAA and #FFF would only have slightly less chance of being as harmonious...

In some cases the average color would turn out to be just gray
You should choose the dominant color of the image, and tones closer to the edge of the image should weight more
