Head to Sukhumvit for great street food. It's a bit more gentrified in recent years but so is a lot of Bangkok.

If you've watched the Chef's Table series on Netflix, get yourself along to the Indian restaurant Gaggan.

When we were in Thailand last year the team behind the series were staying in our hotel which was a few minutes from the restaurant. We bumped into the crew and found out they were filming at Gaggan for the second series.

Choose between a 19 or 23 course menu.
The food is amazing! Expensive but not crazily expensive - you'll leave super full!

The Grand Palace is cool to see but maybe try get there before the tourists as it gets busy! And Wat Pho too (giant gold buddha)

If you go there by boat you might get to stop off at Wat Arun - You can just stop for 5 mins and take some photos rather than paying to go in. There was a lot of scaffolding there when we were there.

We didn't go to the floating market as didn't have enough time and it's out the city a bit.

Chinatown is meant to be cool but we didn't make it there either.

If there at a weekend then check out some markets.

Soi Cowboy is meant to be a sight to behold after dark.

They really know how to do shopping malls over there.
The Emporium is sparkling white and full of high end brands.

Terminal 21 is cool as each floor is themed as a different city/country. A lot of the malls are very sterile and could be anywhere in the world whereas this one had a bit more interest about it and there's a lot of boutique / self owned / shops rather than big brands.

To get to Terminal21 you'll proabably have to ride the sky train or whetever it's called. That's a cool experience too.

    Have fun.

A lot of Bangkok is samey - once youve seen one or two temples really you've seen them all. Same with malls.
Grab your camera, wander off the beaten track away from tourists and you'll find a lot more of interest.
