Can we have a review of 2020 from QBN?
10 top posters
10 top commenters
10 most upvoted posts
10 most downvoted posts
10 most popular threads
10 least popular threads
10 most noted postsetc...
- 10 most-noted post would be skewed towards db's free-flowing notes-based arse gravy.Continuity
- just the 2020 posts or the entire shitshow?
i think u know why this wouldn't work :Dsted - Lies, damn lies and statistics.Morning_star
- @sted You have the data. Can you print us a list?palimpsest

I'm so grateful that we censor all political posts from the front page so instead I can come to QBN for this rich content.
- it's been like this for 10+ years thoughfadein11
- Having gone through the archives a bit not that long ago, i'd say as much nearly 20 years now... .Nairn
- You mean shitty?nb
- Look, I just want to point out the totally ridiculous notion that censoring political posts will somehow improve the quality of the front page.nb
- I think the purpose of limiting Political posts was to stop certain parties pissing politics into every nook and cranny, rather than keeping it off the homepageNairn

will we ever see a new QBN, this is the questine

Here we go.Continuity - qbnpro.compockets

New members can't start new threads nor post more than three times per day until:
a) they have received a total of 350 upvotes across their posts. (Downvotes don't count against this total.)
or
b) five years
...whichever comes first.
- i_monk26
• Basic bold/italic markup plz.
• Grey or collapse posts with lower than -10 scores.
• Larger note area. Notes don't need to be longer, just make them easier to read.
• New members can't start threads for a 48 hr period.- NiceGnash
- upvotedKrassy
- I can get behind this.Continuity
- I'm gonna go out a huge limb and say markup is never going to happen because there are plenty of people here with the boredom and knowledge to break the site.garbage
- All the other ideas are +1 though.garbage
- Markup, fuck no - Markdown, maybe?Nairn
- If one can keep it to bold/italic, only, it’d be greatGnash

Auto-log out people trying to create "______ of the day" threads.
Give it a rest ffs.

- It's like a security blanket. You think you need it, then you discover one day you don't. What are the chances that a "Joe Biden" thread will be any differentcherub
- than a "Joe Biden of the day" thread? 0% chancecherub
- How about no? Of the Day is in this site's DNA.i_monk
- So ripping out QBN's Dna will give it cancer? Lol I call bullshit. Qbn is a cancer survivor. +1 Qbncherub

Can we please keep all politics threads off the front page similar to the way we hide the 'Politcis' thread?
Donald Trump
Joe Biden of the Day
America is Fucked
Brexit
white supremacy
#BLMetc.
- Add: Chick of the Day, Ass of of The Day, Chico of The Day, Fail of The Day, Trash Bin, Fuck Adobe and 3/4 of the entire site while they're at.utopian

All the upvoted / downvoted posts displayed on profile, if not public, at least to the logged in user. Public would solve a lot of community related issues, and / or create new ones but at least it could serve as a way to save stuff for later
- MrT0
How about an *I did this* checkbox when broadcasting?
Everyone can then see that you made it, whatever it is and on posts in any thread.Profiles could display a Qber's ratio of total vs 'made' posts.
And no doubt they'd get shit for having a low score.Soz if this has been posted before.
I'm lazy and I'm wicked.- I had to read that three times before realising what you meant (not enough tea this sunday morning) - I thought you meant "I posted this" which seemed redundantNairn
- Clear as mud. Soz. Suppose it's like Show some recent work, but for any post.MrT
- @Nairn dat rassan tea isn't doing any goodie with that brain of yours ;)sted

The "Picture Association" thread should get a mute so the individual posts don't show up on the front page.
After a while it gets annoying. Especially because out of context.
- Context is for losers!nb
- the irony coming from you.fadein11
- Now you know how we feel when your beloved Chick of the Day thread pops up x times a day.Nairn
- That thread only bothers you if your Willy doesn’t work anymore :)NBQ00
- are you an actual child NBQ or just a nuff nuff?kingsteven
- out of context how?sted

- No, you're out of context!sted

Why not make it so a new user can only post in certain threads, maybe design related threads, for their first 50 or so posts. So they have to earn the right to post elsewhere.
- Bless you.
But I'm afraid that's too entirely sensible an expectation from QBN.Continuity - *entirely too sensible, even.Continuity
- They will spam the design threads so they can post quickly to the junk threadsgrafician
- design ... related ... threads?monospaced
- desi what?sted
- Bless you.

The ability to flag notes.
Not that I believe it would make a lick of difference, ultimately, in terms of mod response to trolls and racist shitbags.
But, at least give us that illusion.
- Nairn-2
This is possibly a stupid and unlikely-possible request, but:
Could you add a radio button option on the Respond mechanic for 'encourage this on homepage'?
I get that trolls could abuse that, but if it's just a small additional modifier, and its use was encouraged, we could perhaps get people to self edit the front page with design or otherwise more relevant options?
I suspect this is a bad idea.
But I also don't.
- This could work.Phrenological
- Or maybe not.Phrenological
- We already have the "Possibly NSFW (prevents this reply from appearing on the Cover)" which is a more logical way of choosing what goes on the front page.deadsperm
- We choose what goes in the front page by engaging with a post.
The front page is a true reflection of the state of QBN.deadsperm
- oey_oey5
interesting how most new members, or at least that's the impression I have, start by posting in Trump, Politics or other thread like that or post something a bit controversial or trolling like.
There was the other day someone that posted in some design relevant thread and introduced him/her/itself.
That was refreshing.
- Lolz @ "itself".ideaist
- noobs posting in design relevant thread is a distraction, primary intent and final destination is always the junk threads.moldero
- sorry, I wanted to write "it"...but you know auto-correct...oey_oey
- design relevant thread posts by noobs scream "verify me so I can hide longer"
BUILD THE WALLmoldero - i'm telling ya just keep 1 thread for politics alive to contain the idiots, and wipe the rest.sted
- So new folks have to stick to design-related stuff while pretty much everyone else talks politics / shits on people / places / adobe etc—Else they're trolls? :)PonyBoy
- Limit new accounts so they can only post in something like the "Test Thread" for a few months.ok_not_ok
- That’s not what I meant at all PonyBoy.oey_oey
- Maybe not—but you have to ask yourself why the majority of new active users are usually trolls rejoining and not like the latter new member you described.PonyBoy
- The site basically has been reduced to what I described... some 'senior' members make this site just as shitty and undesirable a community as any troll.PonyBoy
- There aren't many new members these days—that's usually a reflection on the content and existing users—not one troll that 'you' pay too much attention to.PonyBoy
- PonyBoy...I don't have to ask myself but yes that's what I'm wondering.oey_oey
