So what would cause Logic to not be able to see Guitar Rig 3 on my new imac? GR3 is installed and working, as is Logic, but Logic wont connect to it.

not a 64 bits plugin?

^ Hmmm... Im not sure. Does it need to be in order to work?

Almost certain it's a 32 bit problem. Can you get a 64 bit version of the plugin? If not, there's a few 32 -> 64bit solutions out there.

It's a Yosemite problem.

yep all plugins need to be 64bit unless using a 32bit - 64bit plugin.

Well I would probably need to upgrade to GR5. GR3 is really old.
But when I launch GR3, it does open up and appear to work fine on my imac in Yosemite, it just wont connect to Logic Pro X.

Monospace, that topic is completely unrelated. That was just about how to get guitar rig on my new imac. Already figured that out. This is a separate issue with Logic.

How can I find out if GR3 is 32 or 64 bit? Its from 2007 I think.

Google is no help, but a plugin from 2007 is almost certainly 32bit.
Here are some solutions that may help:

Got a response from native instruments. I asked here bc I wasnt sure if it would take them a week to get back to me. So it is in fact bc GR3 is 32bit. Thankfully the GR5 upgrade price is just $70. Learning something new everyday about this new mac I bought.
