Have just been approached by a client who wants their site rebuilt using Wordpress.
I said "OOOOOOOOOOOOOk, but let me check if that is possible".
It's a winery website. So we need to present multiple products with detailed information and images. Each product can also have reviews.
News, online purchasing, etc etc. Just your average winery website similar to something like http://www.halterranch.com/ or https://www.printhiewines.com.au…
Is wordpress capable of all this?

I've recently discovered the powerful combination of two plugins:
Custom Post Types lets you easily create a new category on the side of the WP admin. In this case, you might create "Wines".
Advanced Custom Fields lets you create additional forms for certain parts of the WP admin. Eg: you can add custom fields for the Wines post type.

https://wordpress.or…noneck - The two things you mentioned are pretty the key to making WordPress a "real" CMSukit2
- This can also be very useful:

all that i'll say is that developers tools/inspect element in chrome/firefox is going to be your best friend.

Absolutely possible. I customise WP all the time with heavy admin/post type options and custom loops/queries.

Custom post types are pretty easy to create without a plugin via your functions.php file. And Advanced Custom Fields is an absolute must for every single WP project.

WooCommerce will do pretty much anything you would need for a store.
