Please help/advise...
I have a client who has seen a flash presentation for a UK Soccer Team.
It is kind of cool with animations here and there and they would like my work to replicate it.
They has already said 'it needs to work on iPad'
Obviously I have explained that iOS doesn't like flash and so they have suggest we build it in HTML5 because 'they know' animations will work...
They want it password protected.
They want it dynamic so that they can change figures through out the presentation.Do you think this is remotely achievable?
We are NOT developers and so we would design it and they pass onto a 3rd party to complete the work.
I just wanted to know if you think this is doable or we need to stick our heels in the ground and say 'fuck you - were doing it in flash!'
Any input would be welcomed
Thanks

yes, but can we see the animation you want to replicate?
- nylon0
Alas - its confidential. We signed a NDA as the figures etc are confidential :(

Wait... Did you guys make the flash presentation? Or did they see something that already exists.
If its something that already exists can we see that?
- nylon0
The something that exist was already done by someone else and is currently on their server.
They know when people login etc hence I cannot show it...
Maybe you guys could suggest some examples of NON FLASH stuff and I could see if could work...
Let me know please
Cheers

SVG is your friend, there are good animation/timeline libraries around.

"SVG is your friend, there are good animation/timeline libraries around."
Really? Like what?

This is the only one I can remember...
But no timeline, which means you're time increases 10x

HTML5/CSS3/JQUERY will do most things - and all can be updated easily by them via a CMS - it may not be 100% flash but no reason why you can't make a v.nice presentation for them without flash and it will play anywhere.

Google Swiffy will convert ur Flash. Believe it can do all those things.
- it doesn't work v.well for anything remotely complex.fadein11
- does pretty well now. They've updated it a bunchfyoucher1
- hasn't been updated for 2 years and has a 1mb file limit.fadein11
- last update Nov 14' >
https://www.google.c…fyoucher1 - okay - I stand corrected - they need to update the date on the page. 1MB file size makes its pretty useless though.fadein11
- for anything complex I should say. Unless al vectors... oh who cares - it was shite when I used it lolfadein11
- yeh haven't used it myself in a cpp years but noticed a lot of ads online used itfyoucher1
- yep prob fine for adsfadein11

Flash is dead. Even the latest flash cc is now exporting to html5.

if you're not coders, do it in flash and export as a video for ipad.
when they change figures, you'll need to re-export.- how would that work lolfadein11
- File > Export > Export Movie.monNom
- so their sales team will be updating flash and exporting video everytime they update the presentation? - cool story bro.fadein11
- who said "sales team"?monNom

Export flash static BGs, create separate pages in a single Google Web Designer doc, apply BGs, re-create overlay effects page by page, use exit events/swiping etc, to create a shareable, editable, self-contained html5 slideshow?

They have budget either way!

SVG + SMIL is, for me a good solution for designers : have a look http://css-tricks.com/guide-svg-…
