Sharp pain in neck?

Yesterday afternoon, for some reason I started feeling pain when I would turn my head. Nothing that bad, I hoped it would go away.
Today, I wake up and my neck is burning. It is really sharp pain if I move head at all. All the pain / burning is on the left side. I assume I just pulled a muscle, but I've never had pain like this.
Any suggestions?

Had this once from stress and the pinched nerve caused a terrifying numbness on a side of my face. Relax, take a hot shower to soothe the muscles. Give it a couple days.
- Ibuprofen will help with easing the tension. Consider a massage just make sure you don't stress the neck muscle more.monospaced

Definitely pinched nerve. I get em quite frequently (6 herniated discs in my back) Like monospaced said, hot shower and ibuprofen. I also use an inversion table - but that's probably a bit extreme for what you're dealing with.
- I'd also eat a couple of bananas. The extra potassium will really help your nerve pain.GM278

Theracane... this thing is a godsend! If you have access to a steam room and or sauna... take this in there with you! also try an epsom salt bath, even if you are not fully submerged the magnesium will do you some good!

Ok, yesterday I suddenly got a strong headache and then my left side went numb and my speech is slurred. Hasn’t improved since then although I took a hot shower. Thought it’s the safest to ask random strangers in a design forum on the internet before I go see a doctor. So what do you all think? Please answer quick, my left eye just went blind and the other one is also getting worse.

Jesus fucking Christ give me peace! Avocados!! If you got "sharp pain" in any part of your body and it doesn’t go away after a day you go see a fucking doctor and don’t wait for some internet stranger far-diagnosing you to recommend some obscure vegetable diet. How hard is that?

btw. I once got the same symptoms as you, sharp pain when turning my neck. made an appointment with my doctor, was something muscle related. got five shots in the back. pain went away immediately. Walked out the doctors office as a new man. But hey, go gorge yourself on avocados, at least they ”taste good”.
