Happened to us a couple of times. Once it was actually a dirty video card (dust had gotten into the vents over the years), and once it was a hot video card that was starting to fry the motherboard. Each time Apple replaced the cards at no cost, and once got the newer model machine.

Videocard. I also got a new one on my macbookpro because it's a known issue or something. Good luck!

Back up data now and start thinking of back up work machines. Check the bottom of the computer near the card and battery. Is it extremely hot?

I use TG Pro and it fixed my iMac's blacking out when the monitor gets too hot.

Quick, make a Skrillex video.

Easy fixbro. Just get one of those PSD files that has the felt instead of tape and some head cleaner fluid.
Pour some (just a little) of the fluid onto the tape, open the PSD file in Photoshop and hit Play. You should notice a difference immediately, but if you do this a few times it will eventually sort itself out

Maybe it's just a software fuck up, since it only happens in PS?
