Hello, I am designing a logo for a vehicle paint replacement shop that uses 3M materials. The company can cover a vehicle in exotic finishes such as chrome, carbon fiber, matte, camp, etc. I have designed a mark that we generally like but wanted to get some other eyes on it.

- Is it just me, or is there a hint of stroke join between the windowscreen and the bonnet?detritus

They don't skin the wheels, hens the absence. They do body wraps. Let me upload a version without a busy background.
- Yeah, I know someone who does this as a job. Still, cars have 4 wheels. *shrug*detritus

Maybe try making the car a touch more sketch like by rounding the corners... less like any particular car, but more an idea of a car.
Also I'd try a thicker font so the logotype isn't getting lost in the mark.

combining the car with the vinyl roll is a nice idea but the execution is a bit clunky. I'd refine the strokes on the car, drop the parallel lines and re-think the type.

It's really literal. Try removing the outline of the lower part of the car and play up the top part only, give it a bit more energy (line weight?), maybe have it partly contain the wordmark.

Is that a music note floating out from the cars rear spoiler?

The mark is a roll of material being wrapped aver the body of a car.

The logo is fine, but will it always be on yellow like that? See if it works without the background color. All black.
Epic Skins. LOL... Remember when skins used to mean pussy?

Does it need to be so diagrammatical?
I like the idea of that background image changing to show off all the different finishes. Could you do away with the car symbol and just fill some nice chunky type with lots of different materials. Or better still render the type in 3D with lots of different texture maps?something like this:
or this:
it seems like a great opportunity to show off all the textures...since that's what customers are really buying, the chance to express themselves through their care (as douchey as that is)

The owner wanted the mark to explain what the business does, hence the literal graphic. It needs to say "auto wrap" clearly. Epic and Skins could be used for hunters, tattoo artists, etc. Thanks for the comments! Keep them coming!

Both Apple's name and logo could be construed as a logo for a grocery store, it's confusing for customers. They should probably have a picture of a computer or a phone with the name Apple underneath and the tagline – 'consumer electronics' just to be clear.
- totally, most people don't even realze they're not in at an orchard or a grocery store when visiting applemonospaced
- sorry but that's a retarded comment. One of the biggest corporations on the planet Vs a small vinyl shopset
- I think his point is that the logo doesn't always have to be so literal, visuallymonospaced
- It was requested to make it literal as possible.scottlitch

looks like it's already being used. Are you just getting opinions on it?

the dot in the roll looks a little out of place to me.

I would go on speedhunters.com, browse their pictures and select a few with equipment/tuners brand sponsors and show him that only a very few of them are so litteral.
- If there's one thing clients like, it's being told they're wrong.i_monk
- Making a logo that isn't literally a car warp is out of the question.scottlitch
