Logo looks awesome. Fuck those dudes who say that it has to be legible. Bruh, language is a learned thing, people don't think in letters or words, they think in ideas.

Folk are acting like you're branding an accounting firm. A gaming company is one of those rare instances where the design can be balls out. ICANHAZQBN is absolutely correct, but is the safe way always the right way?
Reminds of the stuff The Designers Republic did in the 90's, especially for the Wipeout series. A style that I kinda miss.
- I'm suggesting that it can be "balls out" and experimental, but ALSO legible. Why can't the two go hand-in-hand?iCanHazQBN

thanks all for the feedback. all of it appreciated. seriously! so good.
i think save for some minor tweaks i'm sticking with it. boils down to a few things, it's a personal feeling i have about it, even tho i hate it... i like it.
i'm no way a 'great' designer, but my exploration, albeit brief, led me to that design. it's my style. it stands out and does what i want it to do 'right now'. imo it's not the boring, hand-fed, font-based logos i see all the time. i did not want to go the font route.
and frankly i need to keep moving with bigger things, like finishing some apps (!), website, etc.... oh sh*t!
it's a bit of a head tilter at a glance, but the graffiti-loving defcon hacker side of me is ok with that. the letterforms are abstract, intentionally... but you will see it, eventually. wild style b*tches!
this flies in the face of standard operating procedure and is not 'real smart' as a traditional branding approach... but i say f*ck tradition. this one is me, so i'm happy.
also, most importantly, and mentioned several times by you fellas, context is 'everything'... this thing will always be within an app or site or social channel. and... it's also an acronym so it will be tied to a unique, wild name. in a way it will be a bit of an afterthought, not what people will use as the compass to find my stuff. just something to get familiar with the brand.
this is design. spending way too much time analyzing, fretting, tweaking, arguing, poo-pooing, mathematicalizing... over a stupid logo. i love it!

You're a startup, nobody knows your company, and you don't even care if people know the name of it? Real smart. Yup, that'll get people talking about your company. JHR games. Or is it SHN games? Or CHN games? Some kid asks his mom for JHA games, she goes to the store, doesn't find it, comes home and tells him the store only had SHR games. (I have no idea what product you're actually selling or if will even be in stores, but point being, you can see how communication and word-of-mouth will suffer.)
What if I want to know more about your game company, and I see your logo, and I Google search for "JHR games", and I get no hits for what I'm looking for, and I give up............... ? You just lost a potential customer. And you're going to lose a shit-ton of potential customers just from this alone.
I think you worked too hard on this logo and you are too invested in it to let it go. Can you not create another logo, equally as "cool", but actually legible? I think you can. It's just three letters. Maybe you just haven't done enough explorations?
And I especially like everyone's stupid rationale of "I can't read it, but who gives a shit?". You probably shouldn't take advice from people who give that sort of feedback.
Also don't understand your point about "i don't want to make it easy for people either." Why not? Why not have it easy AND cool looking?
Anyway, good luck with your venture.
- i don't like your toneinteliboy
- maybe my tone can rub people the wrong way. but i wouldn't have taken the time to post if i didn't care.iCanHazQBN
- If you can think about all the scenarios of how people could misread the logo, and then think about how short theiriCanHazQBN
- attention spans are, you'd realize that they won't bother to figure out who your company is...iCanHazQBN
- and they won't bother to figure how to pronounce it. Attention spans are much shorter than they were in the 80's and 90'siCanHazQBN
- ..in the days of Stussy.iCanHazQBN
- It's not very often that people come across the logo by itself. You have to think about the contextukit2
- The context will be that it's a game company. But if they can't read the company name, then it doesn't matter.iCanHazQBN
- They'll know that they like the game, but they won't be able to talk about it or write about it.iCanHazQBN
- By context I mean additional text, video, website, etc. Not very often that you see a logo with no context at all.ukit2
- totally hear you, and agree w/ most of ur points. appreciate it!prophetone
- I agree too. But I guess, out of all companies, a video game company can get away with stylised text.inteliboy
- Seriously, come on now.inteliboy
- Generally agree.set

Design by committee will destroy your original design.

I wouldn't go far as saying legibility doesn't matter. It does. I do think it could use something to make the S a little more obvious, though it's difficult to say what...
That being said; overall I really do like it. It's got character. Nice work!
- PS I emailed you last week, Not sure if it was your current address...?set
- it's not. but I will shoot u an email ASAP, sorry!prophetone
- hans_glib0
keep it as you had it - the defined a-hole destroys the look.
so it can't be read, who gives a shit? it looks great
- dragonfruit0
this made me Login for the first time in a while. Best logo I ve seen in years.
Keep the 1st version. Legibility doesnt matter, its about its memorable.
I will prob copy it tho
