So what's the deal?
Have one or not have one?
Seems like the more pro the less likely to see a BLOG tab.

not necessarily, my only thing is when people don't actually blog it could make the rest of the site look outdated

I disagree, my favorite pros have a very thorough blog. Tons of behind the scenes videos, discussions, etc. Keeps me coming back.
So like the old "news" tabs, if you don't use it, it'll make the site look dated. Personally, I'd never keep up with one, too much work, but it certainly is working for some people (Chase Jarvis comes to mind, master of social media/blogging...I can only picture 2 of his photos, but I can picture dozens of his blog posts).

I began blogging on my site because clients kept asking me what I was up to. I realized that many clients only knew me as an environmental portraits photographer and had no idea about my books or that I was also shooting motion and industrial work even though I thought that it was obvious.
So for me it's a way to show a broader portfolio and keep readers updated on my travel and upcoming projects.
- thanks. i've been checking your site all day. nice jobHijoDMaite

I've started blogging on my site. Instead of sharing photos on Facebook of my latest photo shoot now I will blog them and post the link on FB
