and then what? The problem is the entire region is just a big vacuum now. Nothing can hold anything stable, destroy and kill, and something will sooner or later fill the void. With so much hatred and perverse beliefs, there never will be a peaceful situation.
You'd have to eliminate the entire region - Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc., etc. I am sure much of the world would love that, but it isn't possible. Might as well get rid of the "axis of evil" while you are at it. That approach sure brought about a lot of success.
Nuking will destroy the oil. Nothing is more important than that!

I am just so sick of the bullshit coming out of the middle east. I have never considered myself a racist person...I have tons of friends from many different cultures, but I'm detecting an underlying racism in some of my thoughts...which is kind of disturbing.
I just don't see any good coming from anyone from this region. That's obviously a very myopic and narrow view, but Islam just seems to be a breeding ground for so many extremists, and I just don't see how Muslims can integrate into western society.
It almosts revolts me to think like that, but for the sake of my kids, I reckon we'd all be better off if the middle east was wiped off the face of the earth.
Good grief...did I write that?
- sure lets wipe out middle east, what about islamists in china, indonesia, etc?2002
- you are the face of hate. same extremist face.2002

I think you have to have some perspective on this...does any of this actually pose a threat to us, living on the other side of the world?
Less than two dozen people within the U.S. (supposedly the biggest target of terrorism) have been killed by terrorists since 9/11.
There are over a billion Muslims in the world...ISIS is supposedly has about 10,000 people fighting for them.
It's easy to get the picture of a scary terrorist threat from the media but these are much bigger problems in the world.

Be honest: how much do some of you worry about how you'd handle (and how your city / society) would handle something catastrophic? Are you prepared with water and food, medicines, and other absolute necessities for you and your family if something bad happened where you live that shut down all services, electricity, transportation?
I'm not saying that I'm counting on some sort of attack that accomplishes that, but been reading a few articles about electrical grid vulnerabilities that detail the outcome of attacks on substations, electric plants, etc. which are apparently a known goal of ISIS.
The scariest thing is that I'm assuming most of us live in bigger cities, and those places would be the worst off in such a disaster. Too many unprepared people, too few immediate resources, store shelves emptied in less than a day, transportation risky due to people fighting for food, water, etc. My wife and I have always said that we'd go to her dad's place about 1 1/2 hours from here, in the country if there were ever a reason to flee Chicago. And we're not prepared for that sort of thing at all. I hate how much I think about this lately, it's depressing, but I feel like you have to ponder potential attacks and disasters (hell, I worry as much about solar flares affecting the planet and electrical systems as I do a terrorist group) and question whether you and your loved ones are able to survive. And, again, with a child on the way, that just scares me to death to think about something bad happening.
I've been thinking that The Walking Dead is probably the best glimpse any of us have had at how people would deal with something catastrophic. That's the best thing about that show - it's really not about zombies, you know? It's about human survival, and they deal with enough threats from actual living humans.
Thoughts?

I've been thinking of this too.I would take my car and go live in the wood right there :
https://www.google.ca/maps/place…I don't have a 'grab and go' bag full of survival stuff ready to go... I want to equip myself for hicking-camping for a trip to Iceland in 2015 or 2016, that equipment would serves me well for that matter afterward.
Parano-Benfal as i am. Last year I build myself a little kit I always have in my backpack when Im using public transport in Montreal (metro) from November to april. It consist of stuff that could help if I get stuck in the metro tunnels or in a building.
QuakeKare 3M Particulate N95 Respirator 9210
3M N95 Mask as recommended by CDC for protection from a pandemic flu. After a disaster or terrorist attack, dangerous debris, bacteria, and fumes can be kicked up into the air we breathe. This particulate mask will protect you from at least 95% filtration efficiency against solid and liquid aerosols that do not contain oil.and
A whistle is 10x better to make noise when you are stuck in debrit or a collapsed building... rescuers can hear and locate you much better. it cost only 2-3$ and it is super small and light to carry.and
and
A small Swiss knife can be use in many situation to cut stuff, again super small and light. And on an extreme scenario, you could defend yourself with it and kill someone...extreme scenario.and
and this light torch is ultra small and could be a very handy tool to make your way in a collapsed zone, in a power outage in the subway or at work (iam working in the 3rd basement, no power, no light) Again, super light, super small.and
Paracordand i'm learning kung fu since november, i'll be able to fight terrorists... if they dont have gunz :P
- Oh... that trip in 2015-2016. I've had big dreams of doing that when I turn 40. 2017.mg33
- And you better get some food. yYou can't eat all that stuff.mg33
- LOL, you wouldn't last the winter up north city boy.zarkonite
- The gas mask thingy looks neatpinkfloyd
- include some lightersuan
- may be we will go there at the same time mg33! :Dbenfal99
- http://www.youtube.c… All you're doing is gathering supplies for the toughest guy on the block.nb
- I'm kidding, of course.nb
- im not a survivalist like some people in the US. I dont have anything outside this little kit.benfal99
- So you're just going to eat your arms and fingers? And yes, maybe so about Iceland!mg33

If we truly have a catastrophic event, I am not sure anything will matter. I'd personally just immediately hope in my car and try to get back to family, business would be over, etc., etc. Hmm, maybe I should buy a gun after all.
The guy with all the survival gear will be the first that everyone heads to, then everyone takes from.
