afternoon! does anyone here use videopilot's element3d plugin for after effects?

i seem to be either missing some part of the plot or something here... i can use e3d at up to half resolution in afx but when i either try and render it 100% res or change the view to full - it simply freezes and dies on me...

i've been looking around google et al and it seems that it might be the graphics card in my macbook pro that makes it spit it's dummy...

anyone else managed to get it working at full resolution is there any jiggery pokery to be done to solve this problem?

it's not the end of the world if it is simply a non-runner on a mbp's system - but would make my life a hell of a lot easier if there is something that i am missing to get it working...

i use it a lot but im in a massive tower. sometimes it does freeze up could be a conflict with another plug in or something like a blur

    • ...aah... got ya... it does it even when i set up a new comp/layer/effect and there is nothing else in there... soon as i put it into full res... 'pop'

I had to install the cuda drivers to make it work properly...but since AE comes with CD4 I never bothered anymore.

"It has always been advised with Element 3D to disable Multiprocess Rendering. If it worked before, you were lucky but it is always recommended to be turned off. Hope this helps."

I use it too, im on a mac pro, it locks up on me at times as well, or just renders soo fucking slow I literally have to do over night renders, I do all the caps lock, allocate ram, $600 vid card, pop my tower panel, run a fan on it (< I was desperate), all that shit, Im currently working on an intro title sequence for a documentary with a deadline, it I was so frustrated with element, i dropped it and used CC Sphere for the same effect instead, it worked out just as good visually, It would have just gone a lot faster in element since all the cameras n shit are already set up.
