Hi guys,
I'm having a discussion with my agent about this video that I recently did. They find, particularly one aspect of it to be too edgy for commercial use. I'm sending this out to a group of Art Director and Creative Directors tomorrow and wanted to hear your thoughts. Should I make it tamer or keep it the way it is?http://vimeo.com/martinadolfssonā¦
(is there still no way to embed Vimeo here?)
Thanks

- Starting the video with drinking instead of tailoring?
- The "suicide" line?

yep, to be honest the vibe i got from him was he is an alcoholic who doesnt handle stress and who trivialises suicide.
the pressure of making a suit has nothing to do with the real challenges people face when they contemplate suicide. i know what he is trying to say, but it screams first world problem.. and as a client its a MASSIVE target just waiting to be picked up by suicide support organisations and the like.
looks beautiful, music is nice, pacing is nice.. but yep.. its not so much too edgy as its just not really appropriate for promotion of a tailor.
thats my 2 cents

Thanks guys, this is very helpful.
I didn't provide any context for the video. It's my personal projects where I interview creative people about pressure, failure, frustration etc and how it effects their creative process. The video is not commissioned by the Tailor. It's part of a series of video portraits in a smilar vibe that I'm working on.
I'm considering whether or not to include it in a newsletter that I'm sending out tomorrow to AD/CD/AB etc.
I don't know if that changes anything though?

it does a bit, but still kind of want to punch that guy for the suicide comment..
sorry.. just irks me

I don't find it particularly edgy either but for people dealing with depression I can understand that it can be a little uncomfortable.
I will keep all of this in mind for next time.
Thanks again!
