we have used (mt) for years and have had a great experience with them. One of our new clients is really pushing Godaddy Hosting because the price is way cheaper.
I need reasons why (mt) is better than GoDaddy hosting, and why it's worth the price.
Anyone?

Doesn't Godaddy own Media Temple now though?
- they do, but there is a significant price difference between the 2 sitesdbloc
- Gotcha.
Sharing a few choice GoDaddy horror stories online with the client might persuade them.Complexfruit

Neither, I use Linode for quite some years already https://www.linode.com

you should contact mediatemple says and ask them the same question. I bet it could possibly yield better results.
i've never used godaddy, but I've always favored MT's
1. customer service
2. easy-to-use admin
3. already knowing how to use MT is a big bonus for the web admin that already knows MT, otherwise if your client wants godaddy, they can go and learn it themselves or pay you extra to go learn it for them.

Most web hosting costs less than 1 hour of programmer time per month.... if you have any problems with the web host, it's usually much more than 1 hour of programmer time wasted, and web host issues tend to happen right before an important demonstration,etc...
Are you running Wordpress? a custom PHP codebase? some CMS? Rails? Django? plain flat HTML?
Do you like to tweek server stuff yourself? do you want it to "just work?" do you want to have a person no call to help you fix things?
Do you anticipate a HUGE volume of simultaneous users? Have you worked with a CDN before?

(mt) customer service is what kept me with them using grid for the last decade or so, i recently just started with their WP hosting for a few of my domains, that shit is pretty cool

It's about the same, but you get a free CDN service on MT and a nicer interface.

With Linode you have complete control of the virtual instance, you deploy the linux distribution you want and configure it how you want it.
It doesn't have a cpanel or any kind of that stuff, unless you install it yourself.

My personal hosting is MT but I had a client that was on GD and I was SURPRISED by the superior level of service compared to MT.
