It was a stunt made recently to launch Sprite Zero in Turkey. A nice little app, a few little drones and a beach. Refreshment like you never saw before.
Take a look:

Turkey? Do they even have Coke products there?
This is cool.
- Dude of course. Don't be so stupid.monospaced
- Way to live up to the stereotype implied in your name, geezer.detritus
- and Turkey is in Europe, btw.uan
- and Europe is not a shady state of the USA, it's on a another continent.uan
- actually Turkey is in Europe and Asia, so on 2 continents.uan

So it sprays you with Sprite?
- _niko0

Do they use real sugar in Turkey?

and the ad industry continues to plummet downwards

People relaxing by the sea. Look how hot they are. How awful for them. How unbearable.
Does this ad expect us to believe the people are too stupid to go in the water?
- Good point.omahadesigns
- not a good point... more like no point at all... you don't seem to get the point of itmonospaced

haha.

Just do some research on aspartame before the next time you decide to put a sugar free drink into your body

I think the idea is that they had no idea what was going to happen. The ad said to use the app when in need of a refresher, and then this drone just shows up unexpectedly misting cold water. It's not about them not going in the water, it's about them being curious.
- i_monk0
Is there any evidence this happened as stated? Because I'm inclined to believe it was all staged with actors, because I'm not a gullible idiot who believes what ads say.
- This. The staged 'event' is one of my least favourite things in advertising.Wolfboy
- ummm, aren't all events staged?monospaced
- pretty sure those drones could not lift a full can of sprite.monNom
- Yeah, but not all pass off the reactions as real, i.e. not a bunch of actors reacting as per the script.Wolfboy

Looks as fake as it can get.

It just doesn't seem like a good to spend advertising money if it's just staged. The app is real, so why would they develop and release it if it were only for a YouTube video? It might be staged in the sense that they wanted to film it, but it only makes sense that they pulled it off for real.
They did something similar two years ago with the showers on the Brazilian beaches, this is just a simple evolution.

I love the end, everyone is melting in the heat, but thanks to sprite their day turns into a sexy turkish dance party!

Complete with stupid whistling music
- freedom0
Too bad there isn't a huge body of water for them to cool off on.
- feel0
its the kind of idea that works really well on the videocase

and ooohh they're using drooones, we're so far in the future
