Interesting developments from Nokia...
Rather nice looking budget smartphones with a customised android that looks more like windows. The handsets start at.... £73!

I think their budget division is still Nokia as we know it. MS payed for everything else.

‘Asked if the Android-based X range would be coming to wealthier markets, Toikkanen replied that everywhere he sells phones today would get Nokia X devices. That's 160 markets worldwide - but doesn't include North America or Japan. So Nokia will not attempt to preserve Lumia by "geofencing" the X range to emerging markets.’- Nokia probably got a call from Verizon or AT&T threatening death if they did sell them here...vaxorcist

Certainly looks nice and highlights again what a fuckup ios7 was/is.
- Yeah. This definitely makes iOS look the worst. We will know when they are winning next year.monospaced
- or what the 5c should have been is more like it - better colors, inexpensive, etc.formed
- The 5C should have had 1 shit camera, shit screen, slow processor, and shit battery?monospaced
- if the 5c was this shitty, it wouldn't be able to even run iOS appsmonospaced
- Mono, calm down —
you're getting all mono again.detritus - lol mono - this runs all apps and interface looks cool and now and consistent unlike ios7 which is dated alreadyfadein11
- so you're happy with the UI, but it still has shit hardware, and I'm calm just annoyed by the odd comparisonmonospaced
- lol @ getting all mono againset

Looks good. I had a friend install some skin for Andriod to make it look like Windows. It did not work like Windows, though. I so want to like Android (cause yeah, iOS and the 5s feel a few years old, imho), but still can't...maybe I'll take a peak at this.
- which android and on what device have you used it... ? It's the best thing out there by far.set

mono (cause it has to be mono cheering in the Apple corner...even though he's unbiased ;-) ) - the 5c was shit, imho. It was ugly (who in God's name picked those colors?! If you want ugly, get a damn case!). It didn't sell nearly as well as hoped and was nothing more than a slightly dumbed down 5s. Why? Because Ivy was a fan?
Apple has to make some decisions soon...stay a one trick pony, which has served them well, or create more diversity.
I applaud Nokia and Google (and others, but those are who I see) for making 'affordable' smart phones. Not everyone cares about the "best" anymore (hence Apple's dilemma), "good" is so good there is little need for a faster processor (my 4S is just fine if it had a faster connection).
Next few years will be exciting. I am looking forward to Samsung's bracelet thing - heart rate + all the other health things. Presumably, Apple will copy them as will the rest of the field.
- 3 year deadline for apple innovation has passed. Oh shit we got maps in a desktop OS lolfadein11
- 3 year deadline?monospaced
- but people like 2 cameras, and a nice screen, and taking good video, and playing all the same gamesmonospaced
- < then they won't opt for a £73 phone will they? Different markets, son.set
- I'll buy it for using when I got out for a heavy drinking session.set

dude, I'm not cheering in the Apple corner, I'm just pointing out that comparing the Nokia to the 5c is pretty stupid considering the vast vast differences in hardware
I get that you think Apple doesn't innovate because they haven't released a game-changing product in the last couple of years, but they do make a solid phone at a fair price that just a few people happen to like. Nokia making this is not really comparable.
- and yet here we are comparing them ;-)formed
- no, you compared them and I said that was a stupid comparison, and then you called me a fanboimonospaced
- fair price?fadein11
- fair, as in comparable to its competitors and in-line with its specsmonospaced
- and of course the marketplacemonospaced
- Surely you're not thick enough to realise that the point he was making is the the 5C should have been like this, at a similar price...set
- he's not comparing them, he's saying that this is what the 5C should have been.set
