Ok, a client wants to have an infinite list of available units for an apartment complex. It waill show available units on the availability page.
The list will only show available units. They need to be able to add and delete from this list at any time.
The only way I currently know of to do this is with a post category along with custom fields. This mixe in with the news blog though.
Is there a plugin out there, or a tutorial that allows you to have a separate blog roll to use on a page that doesn't show in the regular posts section?

it can still be a category, but maybe they are hidden in the posts section and another menu item is shown in the sidebar only showing that category. possible?

You'll want to look in to Custom Post Types:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Post_…
They let you specify custom content types to do exactly what you're describing.

What was said above...
Use custom post types. It's like creating an entirely separate, second blog for your WordPress site.
And rather than manually code in the functionality for the CPT to your theme's function.php file, use this plugin to make it extra easy:

You can also save yourself the hassle of remembering how to manually code it in with this:

I built something very similar in Wordpress. What everyone else has said with the custom post types. I use a simple plugin for custom post types called More Types and the Advanced Custom Fields for stuff like list of amenities, price, bedrooms, etc. I also used Geo My WP plugin for location searches.
