Hey guys,
Quick question, if you're looking to hire a photographer for a job in the advertising, commercial, editorial field. How would you go about it?Referrals from colleagues, The Google, Social Media, Magazines, Blogs, Le Book, Luerzer's Archive?
Cheers

I'd say word of mouth. Gets me the most jobs. Don't try adwords, never worked for me. Luerzer's if you can afford it, sure.
Nice pictures, by the way.
- Thanks! That's my experience too. I'm hesitating using Adwords as it feels a bit desperate. Nice work yourself !martinadolfsson

I'm based in NYC and trying to do a push to get my work in front of more potential clients (I shoot Travel, portrait and industrial work). I get 90% of my work through word of mouth and 10% through Social Media but I wanted to see if there are other channels I might have missed.

Plenty of people are talking about Instagram and Tumblr as channels to get your work "out there" but I never heard of anyone actually getting hired through those channels unless they have more then 500K followers (I have 16 and have posted 8 images during my instagram career).
I gave up Flickr after the 10th time trying to login, I get upset just by thinking of that damn platform, but thanks for the suggestion :)
Does anyone use drip book, Le Book, Luerzer's Archive etc?
