Hey cats - happy new year first of all!
I have a few questions -
If say you live in Japan and you still do work for U.S. companies - do you have to pay U.S. taxes?
Or is there some kind of loophole...?
I saw something about a Foreign Earned Income Exclusion 2013 - but, that sounds like if you earned money from a foreign contry and not the U.S...
Shit is confusing...

So If I'm a U.S. citizen, but live in Japan and the company I work for (freelance) is not registered in Japan - I would have to report earnings, correct?
Thanks for the input guys - really appreciated.
- iyou'll pay the gov't whom your company is reporting to. where you live doesn't matter.omg

Yeah, you have to pay taxes on any dollar you make from a US based company.
Remember brougham... when you return to the states five years from now and you want to buy a car and shtuff like that, you're going to want to show your income.
Merely become savvy in how to write everything off before thinking that it's best to hide your income.
I hope you're getting your cosplay on in Tokyo!
