Was planning to create a solar system at scale poster.
I gave up after this:

(scroll, a lot)
also more info on sizes: https://www.nasa.gov/audience/fo…
- We're actually just a speck of dust on a beach - the solar system is HUGE! Should put things in perspective...grafician
- "at scale" LOLpango
- don't be such a savage pango! You got what I was trying to do :)))grafician
- then again, those ufos are fuckin fast, the distances involved are monumental!grafician
- lol Were you raised in an Amish community?garbage
- ^hey nowpango

Is the universe conscious? It seems impossible until you do the maths

I think 2 new models of reality emerged online in the last weeks. I don't know if they are compatible nor claim to understand any of this yet, but both claim to provide an understanding of some kind of source code of the universe and conscience.

Path to the Fundamental Theory of Physics- +1 Both Eric and Brett Weinstein rock.
Brett and his wife are doing a really insightful Covid19 live podcast that is utterly fascinating https://www.youtube.…Morning_star - Thanks for this, Gonna catch this episode later. just finishing The Portal no.27 which is mind blowing.Morning_star

- Wolfram might really be on to something this time! He explains basically everything, but the new stuff doesn't make predictions and otherscientists are spookedgrafician
- Interesting although I'd be curious how other physicists view this...Wolfram is known for coming up with idiosyncratic ideas that get talked about in the pressyuekit
- but not necessarily accepted by other scientists.yuekit
- +1 Both Eric and Brett Weinstein rock.

- hmm 25 minutes... can u sum it up. The obvious answer is time is relative. From the big perspective is it never will end as long as it can be measured fromdeathboy
- an objective reference. outside that well its jsut a concept. so is there theory in there beyond that?deathboy
- oh ha utopian you liek science and hate capitalism. objective reference to things like time is similar to value. be surprised how much relativity plays a roledeathboy

This is a great channel.

Listen to Brett & Eric Weinstein talk, if you want to. No pressure.
"...a remarkable story of science at its both best and worst..."

I'd also recommend all the episodes of The Portal podcast.
- i'm 36 minutes in and they haven't actually said anything. So frustrating hearing these brother vaguely talk about a situation that I am entirely in the dark onmonospaced
- Give it time sir. Eric says at the beginning it's a bit slow to start.Morning_star
- Yeah, they start a few minutes later :)monospaced

Scientists detected ripples in space and time from a potentially new class of collision in the universe. Their observatory cracked a 100-year-old mystery posed by Einstein.

- it's nice you promote science. good for you buddydeathboy
- Never let the facts get in way of good story buddy....Fox New, Trump and Capitalism for Life!utopian
- Science IS progress. Anyone who doesn’t promote it is against progress and is probably a fucking idiot too.monospaced
- And it’s not a belief system either. Only ignorant religious sheep call it that.monospaced
- Einstein also didn't kill himselfsrhadden
- Epstein didn't kill himself either.utopian
- I'm sleep dep'd and still a bit hungover ... I read "detected nipples" and thought for the sake of little boys growing up they could've called it something elseBustySaintClaire
- "ignorant religious sheep" - care to name names or just group everyone together like a bigot?robthelad
- That ark guy comes to mindfuturefood
- Im just wondering utopian about ripple in space and time on us or our climate. solar flare and gamma radiation outside. Few models, if any adjust for such thingdeathboy
- being a big science fella im surprised you come to conclusions based on such rudimentary data sets that ignore so many larger factors.deathboy
- You think human science can predict climate and with 100% collusion can control it. While taking in solar radiation and gamma rays and everything in space?deathboy
- Or are you more scientifically inclined as myself, based on empirical data, and knowing when to call models shits as paid studies. Realize we are just heredeathboy
- And some day we won;t be regardless of how we try. We have seen climate decimate cultures. Mayans. Retarded not to think NY will be underwater in time.deathboy
- Continetal drift and larger seasons controlled by .. the heavens or cosmos..deathboy
- I find it hard to believe you support science and the climate change narrative being sold. Make me think you are a merely a fanboy of sciencedeathboy
- "science" and maybe helps your personal identity involving climate change. mental olympics ppl make...deathboy
- such a dunceutopian
- robthelad, I very specifically indicated that it was people who call science a belief system. It proposes nothing, it is simply a method.monospaced
- That label only seems to come from religious people who, ironically, use the basis of religion as a reason to discredit something. It’s actually really stupid.monospaced
- Go to the first post of this thread and remind yourself that this is the topic being discussed. And science isn’t a belief system.monospaced
- Because seriously, if someone doesn't understand that science is a method, they are likely ignorant. And religion seems to be the source of science denial, no?monospaced

If Planet 9 Is Actually a Black Hole, It Completely Changes How We Understand Our Universe
- actually, it wouldn't change anything about how we understand our universe. and there's no evidence it's a black hole, so why assume that?sarahfailin
- wow never knew about primordial black holes. fascinating._niko
- or a worm hole, Interstellar style?grafician
