What the fuck? I downloaded shitloads of Podcast, choose to update manually. Plug my iPhone into my Mac at work to listen to some stuff and it's all gone – AGAIN!! Why does it do that? Does this happen to anyone else?

No, but then I save all my podcasts in a folder manually.
Need to clear that a little - it's around 30Gb.

this is the reason I didnt buy another ipod, iphone or ipad after my 60gb ipod. all my podcasts where deleted everytime they made a big upgrade every 2 weeks. not worth the money the whole apple shit in my opinion ..

does your mac at work is set to sync automatically when you connect a device?
if so, it will erase it to put the content that you have on that mac, if you have nothing, then it will empty yout phone..
You need to get to iTunes > Preferences > Devices > and uncheck automatic sync.- <monospaced
- this is what i thought as well. that's why i don't sync music and media. i just copy to my phone what i want to carry around.sine

^ Nope. It's also deleting my music now. It's dogshit. I like the way all my devices are synced with contacts and bookmarks etc, but why can't it just leave the music alone.

if you don't have it to sync on the other mac, it shouldn't be syncing.
Something is wrong there, don't know what though..If I understand correctly, everything is there and fine until you connect it to the other mac. Then, what happens? Is it only the music part that is gone or other stuff as well?

Seems to be only some music and ALL podcasts. I really don't get it. Everything is unticked on my Mac here at work and it's only just started doing it since updating to iOS 7.

it's probably something to do with the way it backs up to the cloud. when i upgraded (ha!) to ios7 I had to delete all my music. I forgot to reload it, but thought the phone will do it via the cloud (I was away that weekend). It did, but only the music i had bought from itunes.
so the cloud only seems to store stuff that's been bought and downloaded thru itunes.
- which they don't tell you.hans_glib
- they tell youmonospaced
- but I was never sold on the idea, so I never did the music syncingmonospaced
- well no they don't. there is nowhere that says we only stiore stuff you have bought thru itunes. it's just "use the cloud to back your phone up man"hans_glib
