Not sure if this was posted already, but I'm pumped for this.

if anyone could replace sagan on this it's tyson. don't fuck it up, fox!

The original series influenced me greatly, so I'm glad to see this revival (among the other cosmos style shows I see all the time). I'm really surprised this is on the FOX network, though.

Pretty nifty what they did with that CS at the end turning into COSMOS. Approved.

I think its great that it will air on a major network and not a random science cable channel. Bring it to the masses!!!

hmm. never saw the original series, but I know the comiconerds have been pushing for the revival, so I'm interested to see what it's all about.

the main thing i'm worried about is how fox is going to use this as a chance to rewrite the universe (or at least our perception of it).
for instance, in one of the first original episodes (and the book) sagan addresses religion for what it is, not as truth. how is fox going to handle this? the same fox run by christian rupert murdoch, who helped fund GW bush's election campaign to the tune of some 3 million dollars and regularly airs biased bullshit and propaganda on fox news?
i feel like the project could be really great, but it's in the wrong hands entirely
- they even defended the history channel using an obama lookalike to portray the devil in their bible miniseriesscarabin

- i never bought into that obama look alike shit. that guy has acted for the history channel beforealbums
- tbf, Fx is the same channel that promoted the Simpsons and Family guy, both of which have been fairly scathing of the fox demographicdetritus

@scarabin, those same things concerned me, but I have "faith" that Neil wouldn't commit to this if he thought FOX would puppet him into saying something he doesn't agree with. He has a history of speaking his mind on the heavy religion/science topics and he's on a roll. I doubt he's going to budge for FOX.

yeah, tyson is the only element that's giving me hope for this series. i'm even okay with it being an overblown scifi wankfest, as long as he's on board.

"We have what I think is the greatest story ever told: the story of the universe, and our place within it, and how we came to discover our place within it."
"...it’s the science of the day that gives us knowledge about how to think about our place in the universe."

Can't fucking stand Neil deGrasse Tyson.
- he's a little smug, but science needs that again imomonospaced

The trailer is cringeworthy in my opinion :(

Having no idea what this is, the youtube vid looks to be a random edit of scifi movies and biology documentaries. Doesn't appear to tell any kind of story but then again what do I know.
- it's the story of the cosmosmonospaced
- but whats up with the spaceships, cartoons and multiple cinematic styles? looks like more than 1 storyletterhead
- see the Wired article I posted above, it answers a lot of thatmonospaced
