I'm dead serious about this... Anyone want to help me design this? It's already in the hands of 2-3 influential people at Nike, I'm trying to sell the idea and need like 5-10 MMA + glitch art mockup images... I can do this with my eyes closed, I want some real designers to show off, I need more voices and minds to show this can be a badass idea... You'd be helping me create an entire division at Nike... NO ONE IS PAYING ME TO DO THIS... YET!

I'd rewrite that propel. Make it short and clean. Take out the "I this, I belIeve, and any other I's."
My only question is, why give a concept to Nike? They'll just steal it. Make ur own Glitch MMA brand.

- I actually strongly agree with you, but I don't have the time, resources or budget to create a brand right now ;)********
- And this concept is tailor for Jon "Bones" Jones... I'd rather rebrand than reinvent the wheel.********

Also take out the time bits. 3 months is a bit long for a concept and mood boards. This may be frowned upon.
- agreed! done! QBN can be helpful, it was more like a concentrated month in all honesty, but the idea started 3 months ago...********
- thanks man! you're right!!!!********

You are too in love with your single concept.
- yep! and when you see it in the real world I'll send you a fruit basket...********

Glitch is an unwanted accident, MMA fighters are precision trained and methodical. every last movement has a purpose, they are well oiled machines, don't get the connection.
- really!? did you read it? it's not a concept for ALL fighters, its a concept for JON JONES. He is the glitch, glitch art is a way to show MMA on t-shirts********
- glitch art is a way to show violence on interactive, branded materials, t-shirts... it's not meant for everyone...********
- he didn't read it********
- nope didn't read it, but is read Nike global, and jones and silva, but now i get what you're saying._niko
- though if it only applies to jones, then this should already be his nickname, not forced on him by marketers.

Didn't Build do something similar already for Nike a couple of years back?
- Granted not for MMACentigrade

I agree, it's way too long, I'm working with a writer I trust now to condense my message. "Everything has been done before"... This is about proposing an entire new division of Nike that will eventually exist in 10 years on a large scale. I'm giving them the idea because I want to prove I am the right person for the job. I know people at Nike, influential people and this entire month is dedicated to letting them know I am serious about this project. AND YES! I do love my idea, like I'd love my new born child if I had one!

Cannonball1978, I'm also re-inventing the shoe box and I love that idea too! It's just a big design, love orgy at my place, come on over... One of these projects will be picked up within a year from now by a major player in the athletic shoe industry, mark my words. I'll make sure you see that loving your work is how you get things sold and how you spark a fire... :) *hugs*
- Its an aight concept. If you believe in it that much how about you "just do it" and stop selling/talkign about it.cannonball1978

So you're saying Nike should start a new MMA branch of their business, because you've got a great idea for a visual style that they could use for their advertising collateral?
That's kinda like saying, I want to open a bakery because I had an idea for a cool logo.
- more like a great recipe for bread, cupcakes, etc etc... this is the tip of the iceberg my friend...********

Nike already sponsors MMA athletes (JDS, Jon Jones) and they have already begun to roll-out campaigns around these sponsorships, along with a broader range of messaging and apparrel.
TBH the whole glitch concept seems a fair bit dated. I feel like i was seeing artwork like this 5-10 years ago when designers were emulating Carson and Tolleson. Dont' get me wrong - it's all well done, but i feel like we've 'been there, done that'.
But just because i'm a pessimist doesn't mean you shouldn't try. I'm a HUGE mma fan. I really liked that Nike had begun to sponsor athletes and embrace MMA as a legitimate sport. Having the Nike brand name brings a nice contrast (in terms of design aesthetic) to all of the Dethrone, Tapout-style apparel out there.
- if you read the novel of my proposal you will see I clearly stated they already sponsor them... ;)********

d_rek... You seem to get it... That's kinda the point... Rebrand what they are rebranding now, only put a little more thought into it... None of this work is final, it's to "start the conversation"... You may disagree, but "BONES KNOWS" is NIke's campaign for Jon Jones right now and it's ok, it's not that great if you ask me. And if you are aren't familiar with Nike, that's a recycled Bo Jackson campaign from the 1990's... "Bo Knows"... The point I am making is that you could rebrand Jon Jones, Anderson Silva, and yes Junior Dos Santos (hell sign GSP, the list goes on...)... I know who they sponsor, I keep track... Just rebrand each athlete like they do kobe, lebron, etc etc. Put a team behind it, put a budget behind this work. Give Anderson Silva a sick branded identity instead of allowing him to wear burger king and all these low ball brands on his trunks. BURGER KING, what a great sponsor for MMA, it's shit. Jon Jones and JDS are finally getting full Nike campaigns and it's just happening recently. That was not the case last year. It's just beginning and could be much more dynamic. There's no shoes, no product behind this sport other than t's and maybe workout clothes, therefore they don't care and won't throw money at it, for now. MMA is an afterthought right now to NIKE. That is the point I am making, they are just beginning this process and probably have a very small team and very small budget behind this work, RIGHT NOW. Next year, 3-5 years from now, that will not be the case. That's the point, that's the point of this work... The future market.
Strongly agree, tapout, bad boy, affliction, venom, yadda yadda... you can tell they don't have much budget for design and apparrel...

Make more sense...?
- ********0
P.S. - If you look at Jon Jones and Junior Dos Santos "nike sponsored branding" it's headlines and names nicknames only... there is zero branding other than the nike swoosh on their shirt and shorts... the athletes are not getting much a signature style or look... 1 or 2 years from now, that will all change... Anderson Silva will have his own brand, his own t's, patterns, shorts, etc etc. Along with several other MMA athletes sponsored by Nike. There will also probably be branded sites, gloves, etc. Does not exist now...
- ********0
And the simple reason they use headlines and type is because blood and violence will not sell. Kobe and Lebron can be put on a shirt dunking a basketball designed in some new age modern, amazing illustrated style like they do every year and it will sell because it's Kobe, Lebron and it's the sport of basketball. It's not some obscure MMA fighter punching another dude in the face with blood splattering that does not sell them shoes or products... That's the challenge of trying to market and sell branded MMA gear with a visual language. Someone needs to come up with more branded and innovative products like the women's training wraps or innovative new MMA gloves, that the work I want to be involved in... It makes sense to me, if you read my proposal. Than again, it's like fifty pages of jumbled mess right now, which I am working on. Ciao.

Its time to stop typing.

Most campaigns are centered around a new product that is being released, and not visa versa.
You do have quite a lot of enthusiasm. I think you should use that for your own stuff/product and release it. Often times a brand is made up, ads are made before theres even products, and then the brand is sold to a larger distributor/manufacturer. That's what happens in the skate and snowboard world.
- Make a brand and put in a one page ad in an MMA magazine.instrmntl

Nike already pays people to do this. And if they see your page, they're free to take the idea and run with it without even acknowledging you.
